Ze Gallery!

As you can see on the right, I've finally gotten around to putting up a gallery of our pictures. I'll add comments to the pictures in the coming days as well. Enjoy.

Our official video is still being edited, so stay tuned for that.

Ze Donations

As you can see on the left, the donations from the Student Technology Conference and from Microsoft have now been transferred to the charities. This means we have now reached 133% and 175% of our donation goals for the Mercy Corps and the Christina Noble Children's Foundation. I made a quick donation myself, so that we have now raised a total of exactly 1500£ (or over 2200€) for charity, 500£ more than required.

Thanks again to everyone who donated. You can click on the links above to see some of the projects your money is going to. If you donated and gave us your address, you will get an additional "thank you" in the mail from us in the next few weeks.

More Pictures

I'm still waiting for Team Ruhrpott's pictures to come in before I set up the gallery. Until then I'll keep sharing some of pictures with you.

A really, really annoying guy from the launch. Apparently he was a Mongolian throat singer, which was kind of cool in the beginning, but then he wouldn't stop and after 20 minutes I was pretty much ready to strangle him.

Completely and hopelessly lost in the desert.

Visit beautiful Moldova. Actually, don't. It's terrible.

The only road in the whole of Mongolia was made impassable by a rainstorm. To be honest, at this point I felt like the land itself had decided to prevent us from finishing.

Asking for directions in Kazakhstan.

Sunrise over the steppe in Kazakhstan.

Ze Return

While teams are still arriving in Ulaanbataar, we've been back home for over two weeks now. After reintegrating into society and getting lots of sleep we're now ready to start sharing stories, pictures and videos with you. I'll set up a proper gallery soon, and as I'm cutting our Official Rally Video, I'll be sharing some video clips with you. The full video will probably take a few weeks, as I've got over ten hours of video to condense into a few minutes.

Some housekeeping: The donations from the STC are finally on their way to the charities, so the counters on the left will soon be updated. Everyone who donated and gave us their address should hopefully find something in the mailbox soon.

Finally here's some pictures to keep you busy until the gallery is up:

Nightfall in Uzbekistan.

Trying to find Kazakhstan.

Getting lost in the desert.

Uzbekistan was full of amazingly beautiful places. This is Bukhara.

On a mountain pass in north-western Mongolia.

The car in Ulaanbaatar. Notice that some parts had to be removed to improve cooling.
